Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the accounts payable team
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments
- Develop and enforce internal controls and compliance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payment discrepancies
- Oversee month-end and quarter-end closing activities related to payables
- Implement automation and digital transformation initiatives
- Monitor key performance metrics and report on departmental efficiency
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve escalated issues
- Lead process optimization projects to reduce cycle times
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Supervise audit requests and support external and internal audits
- Develop training materials and support team professional growth
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for leadership review
- Coordinate with procurement and receiving departments for invoice matching
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing financial systems
- Support system integration efforts during mergers or acquisitions
- Maintain documentation for accounts payable policies and procedures
- Drive standardization of processes across multiple business units
- Oversee the onboarding of new vendors and tax compliance
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive financial data
- Manage 1099 and W-9 compliance processes
- Lead special financial projects as assigned by executive leadership
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Utilize ERP systems to generate payment files and track liabilities
- Support strategic planning within the finance organization
