Avery Dennison is looking for a Director to serve as a high-impact, visionary leader responsible for determining our global market presence and capital deployment. You will be responsible for re-evaluating our global manufacturing and supply footprint, identifying cost-optimization opportunities, and leading end-to-end migration of business units or production lines to high-efficiency regions. This is a key strategic role within our global materials science and digital identification solutions company.
What You'll Do
- Drive the evolution of our operational architecture from 'Resilient' to Antifragile, designing systems that harvest disruptions to catalyze innovation.
- Create a 3-to-5-year vision for the Apparel division’s global operational physical presence, balancing cost, resilience, and ESG goals.
- Act as a strategic partner to regional leaders in creating an 'Adaptive Footprint' model that accounts for geopolitical shifts and trade volatility.
- Develop strategies to design a supply chain that allows the company to pivot production between regions or sites with minimal friction.
- Design Transformation Playbooks to execute business migrations.
- Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy leveraging total cost of ownership models.
- Conduct continuous Footprint Reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of current manufacturing and distribution sites.
- Analyze global macroeconomic indicators, client trends, commercial data, business insights, geographic advantages, labor costs, tax incentives, logistics infrastructure, and trade regulations.
- Partner with regional business leaders in making relevant footprint optimization decisions.
- Work with Operations leaders, Mfg 4.0, and technology leadership to ensure platforms and tools maximize efficiency across the global operations footprint.
- Lead business migration in partnership with regional execution project teams.
- Advance the use of digital and AI tools to accelerate planning and execution of the 'Adaptive Footprint' model.
- Simplify the overall footprint assessment and evaluation process for more proactive future response.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Finance.
- 15+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale business migrations and operations design.
- Advanced understanding of business, strategic operating models, P&L management, CapEx/OpEx budgeting, and financial modeling.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence teams through uncertainty of restructuring.
- Expert at turning complex datasets into actionable executive summaries.
- Experience navigating international trade laws, customs, and diverse cultural business environments.
Nice to Have
- MBA or CSCP/CPSM certification highly preferred.
- AI Champion with passion and track record of leveraging digital technology.
