West Virginia University Health System is hiring a Direct Care Professional for Salisbury Behavioral Health/RHA. You will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health and/or behavioral health challenges in home and community settings. Your work will focus on implementing tailored services aligned with personal goals and fostering a respectful, empowering environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist individuals in identifying and communicating their service requests and needs.
- Promote and support a healthy lifestyle through wellness education and accident prevention strategies.
- Foster self-advocacy and encourage individual choice and decision-making aligned with personal goals.
- Accompany and support individuals in community activities to promote social engagement.
- Teach and support the development of independent living skills to enhance self-sufficiency.
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to appointments and community engagements.
- Foster positive relationships and inclusivity within the community to encourage integration.
- Support decision-making related to living arrangements, employment, and social relationships.
- Assist with personal care tasks and household chores like laundry and cleaning.
- Document all services provided to ensure accurate records and team communication.
- Understand unique challenges and utilize advocacy strategies to address barriers.
- Connect individuals to resources supporting career exploration, education, and personal growth.
- Promote effective, respectful, and clear communication.
- Administer medications as allowed by state regulations, following safety guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding personal information.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance service quality.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to meet all pre-employment screening requirements.
- Valid driver's license.
