Responsibilities
- Create detailed digital sculptures using 3D modeling software
- Translate concept sketches into three-dimensional forms
- Refine geometry for manufacturability and aesthetic quality
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams on product iterations
- Present sculptural options during design reviews
- Ensure models meet technical and dimensional requirements
- Support rapid prototyping with printable file outputs
- Maintain organized project files and version control
- Apply surface details and textures appropriate to product function
- Optimize models for different production methods
- Participate in user-centered design discussions
- Incorporate feedback from usability testing into sculptural updates
- Work within brand design language guidelines
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new product concepts
- Assist in evaluating materials based on visual and tactile properties
- Align digital models with ergonomic considerations
- Use reference data such as CAD scans or hand-sculpted prototypes
- Produce render-ready assets for visualization purposes
- Support packaging and marketing teams with model extracts
- Stay current with digital sculpting tools and techniques
- Ensure consistency across product lines in form language
- Troubleshoot modeling issues during development phases
- Collaborate on color, finish, and material selections
- Meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a high standard of digital craftsmanship
Requirements
- Proficiency in ZBrush or equivalent sculpting software
- Strong portfolio demonstrating 3D form development
- Experience with product or industrial design workflows
- Understanding of 3D printing and prototyping methods
- Familiarity with CAD software used in manufacturing
- Knowledge of human anatomy and ergonomics
- Ability to interpret 2D sketches into 3D forms
- Experience working with design constraints
- Skill in creating clean, efficient polygon topology
- Experience preparing models for engineering handoff
- Understanding of scale and proportion in product design
- Ability to work from technical specifications
- Experience with texture and displacement mapping
- Familiarity with rendering software for presentation
