Airbus Americas, Inc. is hiring a DevOps Software Architect – S&I (Services and Infrastructure) to join the newly established Systems Centre of Competence within the Highly Integrated Systems domain. In this role, you will design and maintain secure, on-premise Kubernetes clusters to support robust aerospace technology, evolving multisystem architecture through digitization.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain secure Kubernetes clusters on-premise.
- Manage deployments, services, and networking using Docker and Linux containers.
- Use Ansible for configuration and Terraform for provisioning to automate infrastructure.
- Manage code and configurations within local repositories and air-gapped environments.
- Ensure robust performance across both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Configure secure network connections (SSH, HTTPS) and manage virtualized storage solutions.
- Set up centralized logging and alerting systems to monitor infrastructure health.
- Use Python and Bash to automate repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to provide sustainable, compliant solutions.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent practical experience in a DevOps/Systems environment.
- Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters, including cluster management and networking.
- Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows administration.
- Familiarity with network protocols and managing secure connections or firewalls.
- Comfortable working in secure, air-gapped environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of German and/or French would be an advantage.
- Deep understanding of network security and threat mitigation.
- Experience with microservices architecture and service mesh technologies.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL database management and design.
