About the Role

Gjensidige, a leading Nordic insurance company, is seeking a Backend Developer for its Smart Hus tech team. This is a player-coach role where you will spend most of your time coding while also providing leadership for three backend developers. You'll be responsible for helping translate business needs into functional technical solutions within a fast-paced process from idea to production.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Smart Hus tech team, consisting of three backend developers.
  • Act as a player-coach, employed as a developer with senior responsibility for colleagues.
  • Spend most of your time coding.
  • Help the business go from needs and ideas to functioning technical solutions.
  • Work within a fast-paced process from idea to production-ready solution.

What We're Looking For

  • Backend developer experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience from startup and innovation environments.
  • Experience with own commercial side projects.

Technical Stack

  • Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL
  • REST, GraphQL, Kafka, Webhooks
  • Kubernetes

Team & Environment

The tech team consists of three backend developers. The broader Smart-team is a cross-functional product team. It is a self-contained, cross-functional product team responsible for the entire value chain for alarm services.
