Barclays is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer (Vice President) to join our Global Technology team in Pune. You will design, develop, and improve software that delivers critical business and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. In this pivotal role, you will shape our technology future, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

Develop and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using industry-leading programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements, devise solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Participate in code reviews and foster a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing among peers.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to the organization’s technology communities to promote technical excellence.
Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code reliability and proper design.
Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, make recommendations for change, and plan resources and budgets.
If managing a team, define responsibilities, plan for future needs, counsel on performance, and contribute to pay decisions.
Advise key stakeholders and senior management on functional impact and alignment.
Manage and mitigate risks through assessment to support the control and governance agenda.
Demonstrate leadership and accountability for risk management and controls within your team's work.
Collaborate across business-aligned support areas to understand business activity and strategies.
Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, defining problems and developing innovative answers.

What We're Looking For

Strong DevOps & CI/CD Expertise: Deep understanding of DevOps principles, SDLC, and end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
Pipeline Tooling & Automation: Hands-on experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity to build reliable CI/CD workflows.
DevSecOps & Code Quality: Practical experience integrating tools like SonarQube, Veracode, and Prisma Scan for security, static analysis, and compliance.
Containers & Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AWS for containerized application deployments.
Scripting & Automation Development: Strong skills in Python, Bash/Shell, or Java (Spring Boot) to build automation workflows and deployment scripts.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Good experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or AWS CloudFormation to provision and manage infrastructure.
Database & Environment Management: Understanding of MongoDB, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL for deployment automation and environment configuration.

Nice to Have

Monitoring & Observability: Exposure to ELK, AppDynamics, Prometheus, or Grafana for logging, alerting, and performance monitoring.
Agile Delivery Practices: Experience working in Agile teams with JIRA for sprint planning and workflow management.
Leadership & Collaboration: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to guide teams on DevOps best practices.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues across pipelines, deployments, and infrastructure.
