The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is hiring a Deputy Warden to serve as the primary operating and administrative officer for a correctional facility. In this role, you will directly assist the Warden and assume their duties in their absence, overseeing all aspects of facility operations.
What You'll Do
- Assume secondary accountability for the operational and administrative aspects of the facility, including security, health services, food service, inmate programs, and physical plant maintenance.
- Develop and administer the facility’s budget, staff, and physical resources in accordance with state and federal statutes and policies.
- Serve as the primary assistant to the Warden in managing the facility budget, staff, and other resources.
- Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to correctional institution operations.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and applying department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Provide oversight to contract service providers as appropriate.
- Serve on special project committees on various department-related operational activities.
- Act as a public relations contact for the facility as needed.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of professional-level work experience in corrections for a government or private corrections agency.
- A valid driver’s license at the time of hire, retained throughout employment.
- Knowledge of planning, organizing, and directing activities of a correctional institution, including correctional administration theory and trends.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of administration and management, public relations methods, and federal and state laws concerning incarceration.
- Skill in information technology, applying problem-solving techniques to complex issues, and coordinating investigations.
- Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of others and manage facility operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to organize and manage several projects simultaneously and analyze complex, security-sensitive situations to adopt appropriate action.
Team & Environment
This role reports directly to the facility Warden and acts as their primary assistant in managing all facility operations.

- Salary: $87,753.12

This is an onsite position located at the Red Rock Correctional Center.
