Lead and optimize next-generation sequencing and molecular diagnostics operations in a precision-driven environment. As Deputy Laboratory Manager, you'll play a central role in refining laboratory workflows, ensuring consistent quality across NIPT and genomic testing services, and supporting the scaling of diagnostic capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily laboratory activities, overseeing end-to-end NGS processes from sample intake to data generation.
- Refine and standardize protocols to improve efficiency, reduce processing time, and uphold rigorous quality benchmarks.
- Support the integration of new genomic platforms and manage technology transfer initiatives within the lab.
- Enhance Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) in collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet operational and reporting requirements.
- Oversee inventory control, plan resource allocation, and manage supplier relationships to maintain uninterrupted laboratory operations.
- Act as a primary point of contact between laboratory staff and departments including IT, Logistics, and R&D, ensuring clear communication with international teams.
- Lead technical troubleshooting efforts and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Medicine, or a related life sciences discipline (B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D.).
- Proven experience in laboratory leadership, preferably in an NGS-focused or high-throughput diagnostic setting.
- Strong technical foundation in molecular biology techniques and Next-Generation Sequencing platforms.
- Leadership ability to guide technical staff while engaging effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex technical and operational issues.
- Fluent English communication is required for coordination with international teams.
- Swedish language proficiency is a strong advantage for local coordination.
