Gemini is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to serve as a leader of leaders within our GC function. In this role, you will be responsible for navigating complex legal challenges across our business, managing global engagements with regulators, and building out the legal team to support our disruptive crypto and Web3 platform.
What You'll Do
- Own a significant portion of the General Counsel’s responsibilities for Gemini’s business globally.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for Gemini’s senior management across regions.
- Lead engagements with regulators and other governmental stakeholders globally.
- Advise on global privacy and data processing issues that arise in the ordinary course of business.
- Help ensure Gemini’s privacy program evolves in line with global regulatory requirements.
- Manage projects effectively and collaboratively with teams located in multiple jurisdictions.
- Lead and further build out the legal team.
- Develop and maintain related policies, processes, and templates.
- Build positive and influential relationships with Gemini leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Evangelize the Legal team’s expertise and services across the company.
- Collaborate with and support the General Counsel and the rest of the Legal team.
- Evaluate and communicate legal risks to internal stakeholders and external parties.
- Champion the Legal team’s expertise and build reliance on the team across the company.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant legal experience in regulated environments.
- Fluency in English.

- Strong knowledge of and interest in disruptive technology, financial services, or security.
- Prior experience working in fintech, digital assets, or high-growth tech companies.
- Proven ability to proactively, efficiently, and accurately assess legal business risks in a fast-paced environment.
- Track record of creative problem-solving.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Creation of strong and trusted cross-functional relationships.
Team & Environment
This role is a leader of leaders within the GC function and reports directly to the General Counsel.
