The Departmental Analyst plays a key role in advancing employment services for migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and agricultural employers within the NFJP Unit. This position focuses on retrieving and interpreting data from management information systems to assess service delivery and identify opportunities for workforce development.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract and analyze data from the One-Stop Management Information System (OSMIS) and Grantee Performance Management System (GPMS)
- Support NFJP and Michigan Works! Agency (MWA) staff by providing guidance on program activities and compliance
- Develop reports for federal and state requirements, ensuring timely submission
- Design and deliver training materials for state and local staff to improve program implementation
- Interpret federal and state regulations to shape internal policies and procedures
- Strengthen partnerships among MWA business services, agricultural employers, and community-based organizations serving MSFWs
- Collaborate with program managers to coordinate reporting and operational activities
- Identify trends in employment services to inform career training initiatives across the state
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. For Departmental Analyst 10, one year of professional experience is required; for P11, two years, including one year at the intermediate (10) level in state service. Alternative pathways include specific combinations of experience in ECP Group One or Group Three classifications. College credits may substitute for up to half the required experience. High school completion plus two years of active-duty military service at or above the E-6 level may fulfill education requirements for levels 9 through P11.
