Bristol Wave Seafoods is hiring an experienced Deckhand to work aboard a vessel operating in the Bering Sea. You will be responsible for handling and hauling longline fishing gear, operating deck machinery, and loading supplies and product in a remote, challenging environment.
What You'll Do
- Handle and haul longline fishing gear.
- Operate deck machinery, including the autobaiter, slack-taker/combi, and crane.
- Keep the deck clean and free from potential hazards.
- Load and unload product and other supplies.
- Backload bait and supplies at the start of each trip.
- Offload product at the end of each trip.
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as a deckhand.
- Authorization to work in the US (eVerify).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including for THC.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Technical Stack
- Marco or Mustad autobaiting system.
- Deck machinery: autobaiter, slack-taker/combi, crane.
Team & Environment
You will work as part of the deck crew under the Captain.
