TD Bank is looking for a Debt Specialist I to join our team and reduce losses by negotiating and collecting payments on delinquent retail, consumer, residential, and auto accounts. This entry-level role serves as the starting point for collection support processes, working within established guidelines to secure payments while representing TD's commitment to remarkably human and refreshingly simple client experiences.

What You'll Do

Negotiate and collect payment on delinquent retail, consumer, residential, or auto accounts.
Determine reasons for customer delinquencies and use standard methods to secure payment.
Identify loan product type (mortgages, home equities, indirect loans, etc.) and modify your approach accordingly.
Serve as the entry point for the identification, routing, and documentation of collection support processes, including modifications, bankruptcy, and skip-tracing.
Make regular phone calls, present the company positively, and tactfully but firmly collect payments.
Clearly document all calls and interactions.
Suggest changes or modifications to policies and procedures to your supervisor based on your observations.

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to develop strong phone skills and sales ability to make calls and collect payments.
Developing negotiation skills and the ability to learn and explain consumer loan product details.
Writing ability to clearly document calls and sufficient PC skills.
