Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks an accomplished Manager, Lawyer Talent Acquisition to support and manage lateral partner recruitment for the firm’s practice groups. This is a non-exempt manager-level position where you will make independent decisions and work as needed to drive strategic hiring.
What You'll Do
- Guide lateral candidates through the recruiting process to ensure an experience that meets the firm's standards.
- Manage due diligence, draft offers, present compensation packages, and prepare lateral hire packets for partnership review.
- Drive post-offer communications to maintain momentum and help candidates make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with the Director of Lawyer Recruiting, Senior Manager, Practice Group Chairs, and other leaders to advance strategic hiring initiatives.
- Develop candidate profiles with Practice Group Chairs and coordinate resources for identification and contact.
- Work with the Partner Recruiting team to advance practice group recruiting goals.
- Monitor trends in compensation, professional development, and the legal market to ensure competitive efforts.
- Conduct team trainings to sharpen the external pitch to candidates and recruiters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with legal search firms, negotiating and approving contracts and agreements.
- Be an active member of NALSC, NALP, and local legal recruiting groups, speaking at events and obtaining benchmarking data.
- Supervise and train junior team members.
- Travel as necessary.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of work experience as a legal recruiter.
- 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of current law firm industry trends.
- 5+ years of strong relationships and connections in legal markets, with search firms and counterparts.
- 5+ years of active involvement in industry professional groups, with leadership roles, speaking engagements, or publications.
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach with ability to execute against recruitment strategy.
- Skill in anticipating issues and diplomatically driving initiatives to achieve results.
- Exceptional ability to prioritize, advance projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Public relations skills and a professional representation of the firm.
- Sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential information.
- Demonstrated writing ability and excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Products: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and work efficiently and organized.

- The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $166,000 to $181,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
