Join TigerData as a Database Support Engineer and become a vital link between our product and our customers. You will provide deep technical support, interacting daily with users on topics ranging from basic administration to complex consultative discussions on design and optimization for TimescaleDB.
What You'll Do
- Work with customers across a wide range of topics, from basic database administration to deep consultative conversations around design, optimization, and implementation.
- Manage support cases from initial contact through to resolution.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with customers to ensure their success.
- Continuously learn and seek ways to improve our products, processes, and team culture.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases at scale, including administration, data modeling, and query optimization (PostgreSQL is a strong plus).
- Proven experience as a technical support professional working directly with external customers.
- A strong aptitude for understanding and learning new software products quickly.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to express patience and empathy when troubleshooting complex concepts for varied audiences.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with TimescaleDB.
- Understanding of broad cloud computing concepts and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data modeling tools.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL best practices, Query Plan analysis, backup/restore, and migrations.
- A strong sense of curiosity and willingness to explore unfamiliar technical territory.
