Responsibilities
- Stay current with DBMS software updates, vendor documentation, and industry developments.
- Develop, test, and execute DBMS lifecycle runbooks for installations, upgrades, patches, and deprecations.
- Respond promptly to infrastructure availability and performance alerts, and design solutions, test cases, and produce performance metrics for software changes.
- Lead and participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions, technical deep dives, and code reviews.
- Build automated processes for resource reporting, configuration deployment, and change-outcome measurement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, and/or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of relevant experience to include work with DBMS engines, managing DBMS lifecycles, troubleshooting databases and SQL performance issues, and implementing availability and performance monitoring
Nice to Have
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools and languages such as Ansible, Rundeck, Chef, YAML, and JSON.
- Experience documenting and reviewing change activities using automated runbooks, peer reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Experience with business continuity and high availability design and operations including backups, restores, disaster recovery, and data corruption management.
- Experience with automation tools and languages such as Bash/KSH scripting, SQL, procedural SQL, and AWS CLI/SDK.
- Experience configuring and auditing databases and object-level security.
- Experience with Linux, including performance tools, service management, and device administration.
