McCormick is looking for a Data Scientist to provide the business with analytic tools and insights that drive growth and productivity. You will provide technical leadership for our analytics community through a forward-thinking approach and help shape business and analytics strategies globally.
What You'll Do
- Bring new tools to the business and lead data mining, analytics, interpretation, and reporting of large integrated data sets built with structured and unstructured data.
- Develop tools to leverage new proprietary data sources.
- Build and deploy statistical models in areas like forecasting, marketing mix, and machine learning/AI.
- Continuously seek out industry best practices and develop new capabilities for data analytics to drive marketing strategy.
- Potentially manage or coach direct reports to enable these responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics/Science, or a closely related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in data science or a related field.
- Demonstrated skills in analyzing complex datasets, generating insights, and building robust statistical models.
- A sound understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in Marketing and Sales, with a working knowledge of Finance and Supply Chain.
- Proven ability to connect the dots between complex data/analytics and business understanding.
- Expertise in data management, integration & harmonization.
- Expertise in SQL and coding in one or more languages (R & Python preferred).
- Experience with data visualization software (Tableau preferred).
- Comfort working with structured and unstructured data sources, including syndicated data and SAP.
- Strong technical curiosity and passion for problem solving and innovation.
- Strong global cross-functional leadership, influence, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and foresee and address issues before they become significant obstacles.
