Spotify is looking for a Data Scientist II - User Fraud to join our mission of safeguarding our platform and users. You will apply your analytical and modeling skills to directly combat fraud and abuse within Spotify's ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement models to detect fraudulent user activity and account abuse.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies related to fraud.
- Design and evaluate experiments to improve fraud detection systems and strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and security to implement data-driven solutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
- Proven experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Solid understanding of experimental design and A/B testing.
- Ability to translate complex analytical results into actionable business insights.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience in fraud detection, cybersecurity, or trust and safety domains.
- Familiarity with graph-based analysis or network science techniques.
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS.
