Orca Bio seeks a Data Science Analyst to join our team dedicated to improving patient health. In this role, you will perform detailed analysis of large, heterogeneous data sets to discover new patterns and insights, and develop and deploy AI and analytic solutions for use at the point of care.
What You'll Do
- Perform detailed analysis of large bodies of heterogeneous data to discover new patterns and insights.
- Work with knowledge architects, informaticians, clinicians, and external partners to develop and deploy AI and analytic applications for nontechnical users.
- Apply and modify existing scripts or software applications to support data management, extraction, analysis, and AI.
- Develop predictive models on datasets to address business problems using statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining.
- Provide data insights for business problems by collecting, exploring, and extracting insights from structured and unstructured data.
- Execute analytical procedures within the framework of specific project work requests.
- Create or modify scripts or software applications to support data management, extraction, and analysis.
- Contribute to the interpretation of data analysis and writing reports.
- Help customers understand data sets and provide training and suggestions for improvement on data requests.
- Present findings in easy-to-understand terms for business or clinical practice.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, health science, or other analytical/quantitative field.
- Minimum of three years of professional or research experience in data science.
- Ability to apply several problem-solving methodologies, planning techniques, continuous improvement methods, and analytical tools.
- Ability to manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and stay current on healthcare trends.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and recommend solutions.
- Advanced computer application skills and commitment to customer service.
- Experience with data modeling and data exploration tools.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, mathematics, computer science, health science, or other analytical/quantitative field.
- Minimum of one year of professional or research experience in data.
- Demonstrated ability to develop predictive models using advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques.
- Experience providing consultative services to departments/divisions and committees.
Team & Environment
You may work with knowledge architects, informaticians, clinicians, and external partners. You may provide consultative services and support scientific projects under the guidance of a designated senior level data scientist.

Work Mode
This is an onsite role. Positions are available in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; Rochester, Minnesota; Mayo Clinic Health System campuses throughout Midwestern communities; and international locations.
