Medtronic Diabetes is hiring a Data Protection Officer & Senior Counsel to join its legal department and the Global Privacy Team. In this role, you will be integral to upholding our commitment to data protection and privacy as the Diabetes business prepares to separate from Medtronic to operate with greater speed and agility. You will ensure compliance with global privacy laws and manage the organization's data protection programs.

What You'll Do

Monitor and promote compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws, maintaining documentation and producing reports.
Advise the organization and employees on data protection obligations and best practices, serving as a subject matter expert.
Develop, implement, and monitor data protection aspects of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
Develop and support processes for reporting and responding to personal data breaches, privacy incidents, and stakeholder inquiries.
Serve as the main point of contact for data protection regulators, external privacy counsel, and stakeholders.
Review, negotiate, and draft privacy and data protection agreements, advising on requirements in contracts and business activities.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Medtronic's privacy, compliance, and business objectives.

What We're Looking For

In-house or corporate experience within healthcare, medical devices, or other highly regulated environments.
Demonstrated experience building and managing data protection programs subject to multiple privacy regulations.
Expert-level knowledge of national and international data protection laws, including GDPR and US/EU healthcare privacy frameworks.
Familiarity with the legal and compliance implications of IT service management, CRM, and cloud-based systems.
Understanding of responsible AI and data governance principles, with the ability to provide legal guidance on fairness, accountability, and transparency.
