Sherwin-Williams is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer to be responsible for designing, building, troubleshooting, and maintaining our business intelligence platforms. You will ensure the high performance and reliability of our infrastructure, including both cloud and on-premises systems, in support of DevOps efforts and company objectives.

What You'll Do

Maintain platform hardware, software, and network requirements aligned with business needs and organizational standards.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to continuously improve platforms.
Manage and configure DevOps tools like API Gateway and Terraform to support organizational processes.
Collaborate with DevOps engineering and production teams to update, troubleshoot, and maintain platforms and environments.
Identify, prioritize, implement, and maintain automated and orchestrated fulfillment mechanisms to optimize service delivery.
Coordinate tasks of other teams working within the platform to ensure smooth operations.
Identify and mitigate security threats to comply with strict security standards.
Develop and implement security and resiliency policies, standards, and procedures.
Produce high-level design documentation as required.
Conduct technical research for user requests for new/modified systems or problem resolution.
Manage vendor relationships related to design documents, platform changes, and modifications.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 7+ years of experience in platform engineering.
4-6+ years of experience in platform engineering and infrastructure components.
Experience in automated interaction with physical, virtual, or cloud infrastructure.
Experience managing and maintaining cloud-based environments like Azure, GCP, or AWS.
Experience with monitoring and log management tools such as SumoLogic, Graphana, and Application Insights.
Experience developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Excellent scripting experience in languages like Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Technical Skills: Programming Languages, Cloud Technologies & Platforms, CI/CD, DevOps Methodology, Software Packaging and Deployment, Operating Systems, Network Operations, Containerization, Monitoring and Logging, Integration Technology.

Nice to Have

Certifications like Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
Platform Operations & Reliability: Experience owning production platforms end-to-end, implementing backup/disaster recovery/resilience strategies, platform security baselines, vulnerability/patch management, budgets/quotas/cost guardrails, cloud platform networking, and GitOps/policy-as-code patterns.
Databricks: Hands-on experience administering workspaces, clusters, and jobs; performance tuning and cost optimization; familiarity with integrating Databricks with enterprise IAM, networking, and data platforms.
Developer Enablement: Experience creating templates, starter kits, and reference architectures; strong documentation and communication skills; experience running design reviews or advisory sessions.
