Signal Ocean is looking for a Data Graduate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying and consolidating shipping data, utilizing your analytical skills to ensure data quality, and participating in research activities. You will build your shipping expertise while contributing to our data-driven business intelligence.

What You'll Do

Verify data accuracy, ensuring it meets the required business standards
Consolidate and organize data for business use
Utilize and expand your shipping knowledge through internal courses and data analysis tasks
Get familiar with our shipping data lake and provide answers to relevant business questions
Monitor daily data ingest processes and take corrective actions as needed
Perform data curation: scouting, discovery, scraping, cleansing, improvement, transformation, loading, and maintenance
Participate and assist in data quality operations
Conduct data analysis and visualization
Present and describe results clearly and effectively
Complete simple coding and/or Data Science assignments
Participate and assist in scientific research activities

What We're Looking For

Academic background in either Engineering, Informatics, or Mathematics
Talent and effectiveness in discovering and using references, resources, and datasets on the Internet
Passion for data quality and high attention to detail
Practiced skills in manipulating data in SQL, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or similar technology
Coding knowledge in Python or R
A keen interest in learning more about commodities lifecycle and trading
Good organization skills, attention to detail, and willingness to work in and help the team
Capacity for professionalism and willingness to integrate into a corporate culture
Excellent command of written and spoken English

Nice to Have

Data Analysis or Scraping initiatives
Data Engineering or Science concepts (e.g., remote learning courses completed)
