About the Role
The intern will support the development and maintenance of data systems, working closely with engineers to ensure reliable data flows and assist in improving data accessibility across teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and maintaining data pipelines for efficient data transfer
- Support the creation of data models to improve reporting accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot data quality issues
- Document data workflows and system changes clearly and consistently
- Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices in data engineering
- Monitor data processing jobs for performance and reliability
- Help integrate new data sources into existing infrastructure
- Contribute to testing procedures for data accuracy and integrity
- Work with SQL and other query tools to extract and validate datasets
- Support automation efforts to reduce manual data handling tasks
- Assist in optimizing database queries for faster performance
- Engage in team discussions about data architecture improvements
- Learn and apply cloud-based data storage solutions in projects
- Help maintain metadata and data lineage records
- Support the implementation of data governance standards
- Participate in sprint planning and task estimation sessions
- Track progress on assigned tasks using project management tools
- Contribute to improving data documentation standards
- Assist in identifying bottlenecks in current data workflows
- Gain exposure to ETL processes and workflow orchestration tools

Nice to Have
- Coursework in data engineering or distributed systems
