Bank of America is hiring a Data Analyst to join the Funding and Investment Products team within our CFO Data Management organization. This role is central to ensuring operational data is fit for purpose, defining and monitoring controls, and adhering to enterprise data management standards to support critical regulatory and financial reporting across CFO functions.
What You'll Do
- Ensure data is accurate, complete, and fit for performing data analyses through various testing procedures and data controls.
- Develop and execute on Enterprise Data Management policies and standards, working across teams to ensure adherence.
- Manage data-related incidents, identifying, communicating, and resolving or escalating issues as needed.
- Develop, manage, and execute controls, ensuring tracking, monitoring, and resolution of any control breaches within the data platform.
- Partner with Business and Technology functions to drive the development of business and functional requirements documents.
- Unwind SQL and ETL layers in Oracle database to identify root causes and work with technology partners to resolve issues.
- Design data solutions based on the reporting and capability needs of business partners.
- Ensure process controls, data validation activities, and measurement processes remain timely and relevant.
- Create and maintain required documentation and evidence to ensure adherence to EDM Standards and RDA requirements.
- Work under minimal supervision on CFO projects that require creative solutions under very tight deadlines.
- Validate data and sign off on reports within test environments to confirm application accuracy, functionality, and EDM Standards are met.
- Work on CFO ADS Databases US Central Finance Agg Reg Reporting Infrastructure (CFARRI) and Corporate Investments Data Warehouse (CIDW).
What We're Looking For
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) including advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Hands-on experience querying and analyzing large sets of data using SQL with an Oracle data warehouse.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be creative, and balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to perform complex data analysis.
- Very strong communication skills for interacting with teammates and leadership within CFO Data Management.
- Ability to work independently and take the lead on addressing issues.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Banking products (Securities, Derivatives, Debt, Loans, Deposits, Repurchase Agreements).
- Strong knowledge and prior experience with Data Controls monitoring and/or Data Control governance practices.
- Banking or Financial Experience.
- Familiarity with BAC Enterprise Data Management Policy & Standards.
- Treasury background.
- Experience with BI Tools like PowerPivot or Tableau.
- General Ledger Reconciliation experience.
- Data Warehouse experience.
