Support advanced research and development programs within a leading federal agency as a Program and Financial Analyst. This position plays a central role in ensuring effective financial oversight and program execution for high-impact defense technology initiatives. You will collaborate directly with program leadership and external performers to monitor budgets, analyze financial performance, and prepare critical documentation for funding actions and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial and administrative support to program managers overseeing defense research projects
- Develop and track program expenditure plans and budget execution timelines
- Prepare and process funding instruments including Purchase Requests (PRs), Military Inter-Departmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), FFRDC Justifications, and 7600 Statements of Work
- Analyze financial data related to commitments, obligations, and expenditures to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Generate financial summaries for internal reviews, leadership briefings, and status updates
- Support overall program management functions, including risk identification and resolution
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline, along with at least seven years of professional experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Defense financial systems and processes is essential, particularly in managing budgets for research, development, or defense technology programs. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment is required.
U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as the role requires obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance. Prior experience with DARPA programs, military or defense operations, or the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) system is strongly preferred.
