About the Role

Brightspeed is hiring a Customer Service Technician to perform the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our high-speed internet, video, and voice networks. You will be responsible for maintaining outside plant facilities and ensuring reliable service for customers across our Midwest and South service areas.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks including associated wiring and equipment
  • Perform maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
  • Climb poles, dig to bury cable, and work in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults
  • Direct customer-facing work and support sales and marketing activities
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Assist other technical personnel when requested

What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to distinguish colors on facilities
  • Ability to handle 28-foot extension ladders and utility access hole covers up to 150 lbs
  • Ability to successfully complete service tech boot camp training and certifications
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, aloft on ladders, and outside in all weather conditions
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Positive, professional demeanor and strong accountability
  • Excellent teamwork, active listening, and active learning skills

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience as a customer-facing telecom operations technician
  • Basic electricity training/certification or equivalent work experience
  • ADSL installation/repair experience
  • A+/Net+ Certification

Work Mode

This role is field-based and will serve customers in our Midwest and South operating areas across twenty states.
