The City of New York's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is hiring a Customer Service Representative for the Land Records Division in Brooklyn. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy City Register, you will play a key role in supporting the public and ensuring the smooth operation of the City Register's office.
What You'll Do
- Assist customers in the public area with preparing required cover pages for document submissions.
- Handle intake, scanning, and return of documents presented for recording by mail or in person.
- Process requests for certified documents.
- Pull microfilm, microfiche, and Land Records books upon request.
- Refile and maintain Land Records books in the library area.
- Perform cashiering duties and open mail.
- Research property ownership.
- Work on special projects within the division as needed.
What We're Looking For
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
- One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
- Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Assistant Deputy City Register as part of the Land Records Division.
Work Mode
This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based in our Brooklyn, NY office.
