City of New York - Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) was looking for a Customer Service Rep

The City of New York's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is hiring a Customer Service Representative for the Land Records Division in Brooklyn. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy City Register, you will play a key role in supporting the public and ensuring the smooth operation of the City Register's office.

What You'll Do

  • Assist customers in the public area with preparing required cover pages for document submissions.
  • Handle intake, scanning, and return of documents presented for recording by mail or in person.
  • Process requests for certified documents.
  • Pull microfilm, microfiche, and Land Records books upon request.
  • Refile and maintain Land Records books in the library area.
  • Perform cashiering duties and open mail.
  • Research property ownership.
  • Work on special projects within the division as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Assistant Deputy City Register as part of the Land Records Division.

Work Mode

This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based in our Brooklyn, NY office.
