About the Role

Kentro is hiring a Customer Service Engineer (CSE) to provide onsite and remote IT support for the VA-ESOM contract. In this System Administrator role, you will be a critical point of contact for VA employees and contractors, responding to user requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and performing essential system administration tasks.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot computer systems and equipment.
  • Deliver remote and desk-side technical support, respond to IT support tickets, and perform diagnostic and repair activities.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, interface with software applications, compile reports, and respond to customer requests.
  • Maintain Active Directory and other system accounts, and support connectivity and client applications.
  • Assist in the configuration and support of local and wide area network services.
  • Monitor open tickets in VA's ServiceNow ticketing system to ensure process adherence and report discrepancies.
  • Utilize debugging protocols and processes to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate equipment returns, deployments, unboxing, inventorying, and verification.
  • Handle physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, climbing, and crawling.
  • Stand and move throughout the work area for prolonged periods.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other technical discipline OR 8 years of additional relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or System Administration.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements outlined in the job description.
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Willing and able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance.
  • Must meet updated ID requirements as specified by GSA.
  • Willing to update current forms of ID if needed to complete the suitability process.

Nice to Have

  • Experience conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs.
  • Knowledge of a number of debugging protocols and processes.
  • Adept knowledge in IT principles and practices, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and a basic understanding of system administration in a Windows environment.
