TD Bank is looking for a Credit Analyst I to join our Loan Review division. You will provide independent and objective risk-based assessments of credit risk and credit management practices. Working collaboratively, you will support the Lending and Credit functions by conducting in-depth analysis of existing and potential borrowers.
What You'll Do
- Conduct basic financial analysis of less complex loans, industries, and customers.
- Research industry-specific information from external sources, including industry publications, credit agencies, and direct borrower conversations.
- May participate in customer meetings and make direct inquiries for specific information, which may require occasional travel.
- Perform underwriting analysis of a borrower's character, credit worthiness, and financial condition as part of the loan origination process.
- Provide analytical support to the lending function.
- May prepare approval memorandums for presentation to lending and credit authorities.
- May analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and other data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop credit risk assessments.
- May maintain credit files, monitor for updated financials, and prepare updated analysis.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements.
- May provide written analysis identifying deviations from loan policy and suggest alternative structures to reduce risk.
- Achieve operational performance standards in quality and timeliness.
What We're Looking For
- A 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of credit and financial analysis techniques.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Developed PC skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain the confidentiality of credit and customer information.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team orientation.
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of related experience.
- 3rd line risk experience.
- Consumer lending experience.
Team & Environment
This role is part of the Loan Review division within the Credit Management line of business. Your work will be reviewed and monitored by lead staff.
