UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring a Credentialing and Medical Staffing Coordinator to perform critical functions related to the credentialing and privileging of physicians and other practitioners. You will work under minimal supervision within our organization committed to excellence, innovation, teamwork, and compassion.
What You'll Do
- Complete the initial appointments and reappointments for Faculty and Community-based physicians of your assigned Department(s).
- Complete all required follow-up work associated with the approval of appointments.
- Generate required physician profiles to validate volume and activity requirements for specific privilege criteria.
- Conduct reviews of managed care documentation and policies.
- Conduct required reports or audits, reviewing findings with management and staff.
- Complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Joint Commission and NCQA standards for the Medical Staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledgeable of both NCQA and JCAHO standards.
- Knowledge of parliamentary procedures.
- 3 years of experience or equivalent knowledge in medical staff credentialing.
- CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Staff Management) certification required upon hire.
Nice to Have
- 5 years of Medical Staff or Managed Care credentialing experience.
