Crystalia Glass LLC is looking for a detail-oriented Cost Engineer-Estimator. You will be responsible for reviewing architectural drawings, performing precise take-offs, and preparing detailed quotes for premium architectural glass, aluminum, and steel partition systems.
What You'll Do
- Review architectural drawings and submitted quotes to determine suitable installation options for glass, aluminum, and steel partition systems.
- Perform precise take-offs for all door and partition openings based on architectural and shop drawings.
- Read and interpret door schedules and hardware sets to ensure accurate product selection and compatibility.
- Communicate effectively with the sales team to clarify project scope, technical requirements, and deadlines.
- Request necessary documentation, including compliance and regulatory certifications.
- Prepare detailed quotes that define included materials, scope of work, exclusions, and relevant assumptions or conditions.
- Identify and correct technical errors made by sales managers and propose appropriate alternatives or solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Education in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience in quantity take-offs from construction and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or equivalent), including the ability to create and use simple formulas.
- Strong ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, mechanical drawings, and hardware sets.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexibility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
