About the Role

Trane Technologies is looking for a Controls Service Technician in Pensacola, FL, and the surrounding area. In this role, you will blend HVAC and Controls expertise to start and commission new systems, as well as diagnose and repair environmental-control systems across diverse commercial settings. You will be part of a team creating innovative climate solutions for a sustainable world.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the direct customer contact, servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.
  • Coordinate with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site work by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
  • Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company issued and procured assets.
  • Display team effort and dedication by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with a handheld computer (i.e., smartphone, iPad).
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks including twisting, squatting, reaching overhead, standing on concrete for extended periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 40 lbs, and occasionally more.
  • Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 375 lb total weight limit while carrying equipment.
  • Must be able to maneuver confined access areas and comfortably access rooftops at heights ranging from 15’ to 50’+.
  • Role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, and noisy operating equipment.

Nice to Have

  • Technical School or formal training.
  • Previous experience with DDC controls system.
  • EPA certification.
