United Therapeutics seeks a Controls Engineer II, Operational Technology to provide key technical and automation support for complex distributed control systems and manufacturing automation systems in our regulated, validated environment. You will support multiple projects as we expand manufacturing and packaging operations, leveraging your enthusiasm and creativity to innovate for unmet medical needs.
What You'll Do
- Provide key support for distributed control systems and manufacturing automation systems.
- Perform system and equipment troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and field devices under strict change control.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures on systems and equipment as required.
- Perform network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting, and repair programming.
- Ensure PLC specifications, designs, programming standards, and implementation meet requirements.
- Ensure GAMP/cGxP procedures and testing implementation are followed.
- Provide system support for Operational Technology systems including Enterprise Quality Management System (TrackWise), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems (SAP), and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) (Adept and MasterControl).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Associate Degree in information technology or engineering, or Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or engineering.
- 4+ years of automation experience with an Associate Degree or 2+ years with a Bachelor's Degree.
- Prior experience in an FDA-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple demands, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage resource procurement.
- Superior database maintenance and development experience.
- Computer hardware and software validation and change control experience.
- PLC programming and connectivity experience.
- Industrial networking experience.
- Experience with Schneider EcoStruxure, AVEVA Archestra, and JCI Metasys.
- Experience working in small, fast-paced project teams with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Certified Automation Professional-ISA.
- Prior experience working on construction projects.
