Requirements

  • College degree in computer or electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Strong interest in automation, process control, and system design
  • Basic understanding of control theory, network fundamentals, and system integration
  • Basic knowledge of network architecture and computerized information systems used in industrial environments
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems
  • Understanding of OT security principles
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels
  • Ability to analyze technical information and interpret procedures, technical standards, and manuals
  • Good organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation to learn new systems and technologies independently
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and operators
  • Must have or be able to qualify for State of Hawaii driver’s license to drive to various company facilities. Must meet the standards for frequent or required driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Required Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety objectives.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, to support 24/7 operations.
  • College degree in chemical or electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of thermodynamics, mechanical processes, and control theory
  • Working knowledge of the network architecture, deployment and maintenance of computerized information and industrial control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of client-server and computer networking technologies.
  • Basic skills to design and integrate systems to control and monitor mechanical and chemical processes.
  • Basic knowledge of OT Security and OSI models
  • Understanding of constraints and challenges for supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written communication.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and persuade various groups or individuals.
  • In depth analytical, organizational, and conceptual skills to handle various work projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability and motivation to learn new tools and products independently.
  • A minimum of two years working at the control specialist level or equivalent or combination of experience and advanced degrees and credentials.
  • Experience with data and communications hardware and network installation and troubleshooting with experience in OT Systems preferred.
  • Experience maintaining industrial control systems preferred.
