Renesas Electronics is hiring a Staff Application Engineer (experience in FPGA design/ Verilog)

Role Overview

As a Staff Application Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader supporting customers, field teams, sales, and distribution partners in adopting configurable semiconductor products, with a focus on FPGA and GreenPAK technologies. Your work will bridge customer needs with product capabilities, ensuring successful integration and real-world performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical training and hands-on support to customers, field application engineers, sales teams, and distributors
  • Design and develop system-level solutions, including hardware, firmware, and supporting software
  • Create application notes, reference designs, and training content to accelerate product adoption
  • Review customer designs and provide expert feedback on hardware, software, and implementation strategies
  • Develop reusable IP blocks for FPGA platforms to expand internal and customer-facing libraries
  • Collaborate with design teams in Zhubei and global support units on new product development and rollout
  • Identify field-reported challenges and lead cross-functional efforts to improve products and documentation
  • Guide and mentor fellow application engineers in FPGA-specific use cases and best practices

Required Expertise

  • Proven experience in FPGA design and implementation
  • Strong proficiency in Verilog for digital logic development
  • Familiarity with GreenPAK or similar programmable mixed-signal platforms is highly beneficial

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work model, combining office and remote collaboration to support global teams and customer engagements.
