Aecon Group Inc. is hiring a Contracts Manager to provide crucial commercial leadership on a major infrastructure project. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for contracts and risk management for Aecon's contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out the Turbine Generator Refurbishment at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.
What You'll Do
- Review, negotiate, draft, and amend contracts and commercial agreements.
- Prepare project-specific contract administration manuals based on corporate templates.
- Act as the primary point of contact to the Client for all contractual matters.
- Assist project staff with the interpretation and practical application of contract documents.
- Provide updates and monthly summaries of commercial matters to executive teams.
- Identify, document, and quantify changes in the Work and claims.
- Prepare, develop, and manage timely contractual correspondence and notices.
- Assist in the formation and administration of subcontractor contracts, ensuring required terms are flowed down.
- Develop and maintain efficient systems for identifying and capturing commercial issues and changes.
- Maintain a current log of all issues and change orders for each contract.
- Liaise with and provide guidance on contract matters to senior managers and team members.
- Provide presentations and workshops on contract administration, change management, and corporate policies.
- Manage import/export compliance requirements for the project, as required.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in the industrial engineering, procurement, or construction industry.
- A technical or legal post-secondary education.
- Advanced knowledge of construction law and experience negotiating and drafting major construction contracts.
- Sound knowledge of company operations and an understanding of strategic direction.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in joint venture, consortium, or alliance contract agreements.
