This role supports a newly established Contracts Centre of Excellence serving both Canada and the United States. You will play a key part in managing commercial agreements for large-scale projects in infrastructure, environmental services, transportation, real estate, and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
- Advise project teams on contractual terms, risk exposure, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engage in discussions with internal stakeholders and external clients to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Deliver training on core contract topics, including risk management, prompt payment regulations, and lessons from past projects.
- Analyze public and private RFPs and assist in developing responsive, compliant proposals.
- Ensure adherence to internal governance policies and approval workflows.
- Develop and refine contract templates, standard provisions, and contracting methodologies to reflect industry evolution and internal best practices.
- Use Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms and AI-enhanced tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
- Support strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening contractual processes across North America.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year as a Contracts Specialist or Manager within engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Ability to translate legal and contractual concepts for technical and non-legal professionals.
- Solid grasp of business operations, risk assessment, and decision-making frameworks.
- Familiarity with CLM systems, Microsoft 365, and emerging AI technologies in contract management.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, team-oriented settings with multiple priorities.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges vary by province and territory: $103,500–$151,800 depending on location, experience, education, and skills. Final compensation considers multiple factors including geographic region and business requirements.
