The Continuous Visual Monitoring Technician provides continuous safety observation for patients at risk of harming themselves or others at Delnor Hospital, part of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This role supports patient safety through video monitoring, emotional support, and de-escalation techniques while upholding the organization's mission and compliance standards.
What You'll Do
- Provides continuous safety observation via continuous video monitoring of patients identified to be at risk for causing injury to themselves or to others
- Offers basic comfort measures to help the patient relax
- Addresses the emotional needs of specific patients served
- Uses encouragement, distraction, coping strategies, cognitive stimulation activities, and de-escalation techniques within the scope of this role as appropriate
- Monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring
- Provides effective verbal redirection of designated remote continuous observation patients from engaging in risk behaviors
- Summons appropriate staff via communication device/STAT Alert Alarm when appropriate
