We’re building a new standard for digital government content and need a skilled Content Designer to lead the way. In this role, you’ll create straightforward, accessible content for digital platforms used by the public, ensuring information is easy to understand and inclusive for all users.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver user-focused content for websites, emails, and digital forms that clearly communicate government services
- Work closely with researchers, developers, policy advisors, and designers to align content with user needs and technical requirements
- Transform complex policies and procedures into plain language that’s easy to navigate
- Develop content strategies and reusable patterns to ensure consistency across services
- Create documentation and share best practices to support future teams
- Support team growth by mentoring others and promoting strong content standards

- Ability to distill complicated subjects into clear, concise content
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams on digital products
- Training or professional experience in communications, journalism, or content design
Nice to Have
- Prior work writing for government or highly regulated digital services with an emphasis on accessibility and reuse
- Experience contributing to design systems or creating content components for reuse
- Thoughtful perspective on how AI tools can support content creation and digital delivery
Work Environment
This role supports a hybrid model, blending remote and in-person collaboration. While we value face-to-face interaction, fully remote work is an option for the right candidate. You’ll be part of a modern, inclusive team focused on user needs, innovation, and creating systems that scale.
Why This Matters
You’ll help define how digital government speaks to the public. From day one, you’ll shape content strategy, influence teams across departments, and leave behind systems and patterns that last. This is a rare chance to build foundational work in public service design while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
Compensation
Pay is based on qualifications and experience. The role emphasizes long-term impact, professional growth, and the ability to guide content standards across the public sector.
