The Senior Content Designer will lead the development of consumer-facing advertising experiences on Netflix's ad-supported tier. This role emphasizes designing intuitive, trustworthy ad interactions that align with Netflix's global product standards, ensuring clarity and engagement while balancing user needs with advertising objectives.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design of Netflix's advertising experiences for consumers
- Develop innovative ad formats suited to Netflix's diverse content and viewing contexts
- Refine and improve existing ad interface designs
- Design privacy and policy communications that build user trust
- Collaborate with designers across member experience teams
- Ensure advertising content is clear, engaging, and enhances the overall Netflix experience
- Lead the development and refinement of content design strategy and vision
- Create highly legible and effective user interface experiences
- Establish and document content terminology, style guidelines, and design patterns
- Write user interface copy tailored for a global audience
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in UX writing, content design, content strategy, technical writing, taxonomy, or information architecture
- A portfolio demonstrating full-cycle product thinking, from problem definition to UX/content strategy, information architecture, and final UI copy for consumer-facing products
- Expertise in AP style with the ability to adapt or deviate from guidelines when it improves clarity or user experience
- Proven ability to integrate business goals, user research, and data into effective, results-oriented UI content
- Experience in mapping and optimizing user journeys and content flows across multiple platforms
- Skilled at operating in ambiguous environments, moving between strategic planning and hands-on execution
- Highly collaborative, organized, and self-motivated, with strong prioritization skills and adaptability to evolving team needs
Nice to Have
- Experience working directly with advertisers, advertising agencies, or on consumer-facing advertising experiences
- Background in startup or fast-paced environments requiring initiative, rapid decision-making, and action-oriented mindset
- Strong grasp of user experience principles, particularly across multiple device types such as connected TV, mobile, and web

Compensation
Annual salary range of $270,000 - $380,000, depending on location. Includes stock options as part of the total compensation. No bonuses; compensation consists solely of base salary and equity.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid arrangement based in California within the Pacific time zone, with primary locations in Los Angeles and Los Gatos. Remote work is supported with a flexible work-from-home schedule, though monthly in-person meetings are required in Los Angeles or Los Gatos.
Team
Part of the Ads Consumer Experience team, responsible for designing ad experiences visible to users across the Netflix platform. Reports to the Ads Consumer Experience Design Manager.
