Our National Conversation (ONC) is looking for a Conservative Writer - Influencer - Podcasting Intern to join our remote team. In this role, you will write political content for our nonpartisan media outlet, participate in podcasts and events, and collaborate with a diverse group of writers to foster civil debate. Our organization is powered by America’s youth and dedicated to reducing partisanship while promoting effective solutions.

What You'll Do

Create consistent written content, including OpEds and Policy Proposals, for the ONC website alongside a team of core content writers.
Ensure all published work reflects ONC’s commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate.
Participate in civil dialogue with conservative, progressive, and moderate writers focused on eight key policy areas.
Participate in podcasts, events, and other tasks as needed.

What We're Looking For

Interest and experience in at least one of ONC’s eight policy areas: Governance, Economics, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Foreign Policy and Defense, Justice and Public Safety, Social Issues, or Science, Environment and Technology.
Exceptional writing skills in English.
Proven ability to be a responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict.
Enthusiasm for ONC’s mission and values, including a willingness to participate in polite debate with people of diverse and opposing political perspectives.
Ability to work remotely and manage your own schedule to meet deadlines.
Ability to attend the weekly mandatory Organization-Wide meeting every Monday at 6:30 p.m. EST.
Ability to attend the weekly mandatory Core Content Department meeting every Friday at 6:30 p.m. EST.
Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
Must submit a short writing sample (2-3 paragraphs on a political topic) with your application.

Nice to Have

Working towards a degree in Political Science, Journalism, English or Literature, Public Policy, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
Good verbal communication and speaking skills.
Experience in policy research, political commentary, political science, or a related domain.
Google Workspace experience.

The Core Content Writers consist of conservative, progressive, and moderate writers. You will be part of the Core Content Department, reporting to the Core Content Team Lead and the Managing Editor.
