About the Role
This position plays a key role in advancing energy efficiency by leading research and pilot initiatives that support deep energy retrofits in existing buildings. You'll help shape the future of energy conservation by identifying emerging technologies and driving their adoption to reduce natural gas demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong working relationships with internal departments, municipalities, legal teams, and industry partners to support project success.
- Stay current on advancements in Demand Side Management (DSM) technologies and align them with customer needs and organizational goals.
- Identify and prioritize innovative solutions with high potential for reducing natural gas consumption and prepare detailed business cases for implementation.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to manage project deliverables, including procurement processes, legal documentation, and compliance with privacy and audit standards.
- Optimize project workflows to improve efficiency, increase customer engagement, and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Develop industry connections to promote the adoption of new DSM technologies and position the organization as a leader in energy innovation.
- Continuously assess project performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure successful execution of current and future initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
You bring a combination of technical understanding and project leadership. A diploma in a business-related or technical field, along with at least three years of relevant experience, forms the foundation. You have a history of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and within scope.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, particularly in supporting measurement, verification, and reporting activities. You’re equally effective leading teams and working independently to meet project objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is an asset.
- Experience delivering or promoting DSM programs, or working within a regulated utility environment, is highly valued.
Work Environment & Benefits
This is a hybrid role based in British Columbia, offering flexibility to work remotely from an approved location for up to 85 days per year—approximately two days per week—depending on operational needs.
