Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Ltd. is hiring a Connector Design Engineer to lead and guide the design and development of automotive connectors. In this role, you will be responsible for the independent creation of parametric models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation, as well as performing critical design reviews and calculations.
What You'll Do
- Lead and guide the design and development of automotive connectors.
- Independently create parametric models and manufacturing drawings.
- Guide requirement analysis and focus matrix development.
- Conduct concept reviews according to project requirements.
- Create development drawings, manufacturing drawings, and offer drawings based on inputs.
- Review and prepare technical customer documentation.
- Implement changes from Engineering Change Requests (ECR) in series parts.
- Review and perform tolerance stack-up and functional proof of connector assemblies.
- Review and perform design calculations for various connector features.
- Benchmark connectors and perform specification comparisons.
- Review connector validation, design verification, and its requirements.
- Create Material Master and Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
What We're Looking For
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6-13 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of thermoplastics, elastomers, metals, and plating materials.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes like molding, stamping, plating, and assembly.
- Knowledge of plastic and sheet metal design concepts.
- Proficiency in GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
- Exposure to connector test specifications and OEM standards.
- Mandatory experience with CAD tools: UG NX and Team Centre.
- Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Nice to Have
- Work experience in the connector industry or automotive domain.
- Experience as a lead in a connector design team.
- Exposure to plastic injection molding tooling, sheet metal forming/stamping tools, and connector assembly tools.
- Knowledge of Electrical Vehicle High Voltage connectors.
- Experience with DRBFM, focus matrix, and FMEA for connectors.
- Knowledge of project management tools like MS Project and other MS Office tools.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
- A strong background in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries.
- Risk assessment knowledge.
- Ability to perform Airgap and Creepage calculations using CAD Creo tool.
- Experience with theoretical engineering calculations.
