About the Role

This role is responsible for managing compliance programs specific to Japan, including monitoring regulatory changes, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring alignment with local and international standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance frameworks tailored to Japan's regulatory environment
  • Monitor updates in financial regulations and adapt compliance strategies accordingly
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for Japan-specific operations
  • Collaborate with legal and operational teams to implement compliance controls
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate with external auditors
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for local teams
  • Maintain documentation for compliance activities and audits
  • Serve as primary contact for local regulatory inquiries
  • Ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) standards
  • Support investigations related to compliance breaches
  • Evaluate third-party compliance risks in Japan
  • Report compliance metrics and risks to senior management
  • Ensure policies meet both local and global regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement of compliance processes
  • Support incident response and remediation efforts
  • Work with regional teams to align compliance practices
  • Track regulatory deadlines and ensure timely submissions
  • Assist in policy drafting and localization for Japan
  • Promote a culture of compliance across departments
  • Manage relationships with local compliance advisors
