About the Role
The Compliance Officer will monitor and enforce adherence to financial regulations related to digital assets, support internal and external audits, and help develop policies to meet evolving compliance requirements in Bermuda and applicable jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor transactions for compliance with anti-money laundering regulations
- Conduct regular reviews of customer onboarding and verification processes
- Support internal and external audit requests with accurate documentation
- Assist in the development and updating of compliance policies and procedures
- Track changes in financial regulations affecting digital asset operations
- Collaborate with legal and risk teams to assess regulatory impact
- Report suspicious activities in accordance with local laws
- Maintain compliance training materials for staff
- Ensure recordkeeping meets regulatory retention requirements
- Engage with regulators during examinations or inquiries
- Evaluate compliance risks associated with new products or services
- Perform periodic risk assessments for compliance exposure
- Coordinate with international teams to align compliance practices
- Implement corrective actions following audit findings
- Monitor wallet and transaction monitoring tools for anomalies
- Verify adherence to licensing obligations in Bermuda
- Support the certification of compliance controls
- Draft responses to regulatory information requests
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of virtual asset guidelines
- Assist in onboarding compliance officers in regional offices
- Track key compliance metrics and reporting timelines
- Ensure third-party vendors meet compliance standards
- Participate in incident response for compliance breaches
- Review marketing materials for regulatory accuracy
- Promote a culture of compliance across departments
