About the Role

Responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of a major rail infrastructure project, including contract administration, financial performance monitoring, risk management, and compliance. Acts as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, supports change management, and ensures successful project delivery through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer contracts to ensure compliance and optimal performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage modifications, change orders, and resolution of claims related to contracts.
  • Act as the main point of contact for commercial and contractual issues during design development.
  • Track financial performance, identify potential risks, and propose corrective measures.
  • Assist in resolving disputes, including participation in Dispute Review Board (DRB) processes.
  • Review invoices and project deliverables to confirm alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams and Contracting Officers' Technical Representatives (COTR) on formal contract actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits, grant compliance, and contract closure.
  • Analyze and manage errors and omissions (E&O) and their commercial effects on construction work packages.
  • Produce weekly performance reports for senior leadership review.
  • Lead the creation and ongoing update of project risk registers.
  • Support negotiations for contract changes, variations, and adjustments.
  • Address design-related challenges affecting construction package execution.

  • Maintain compliance and effective communication in contract management from design through closeout.
  • Apply commercial and contractual expertise to support design management in resolving complex issues.
  • Foster collaboration across diverse teams to align design goals with business objectives for successful project delivery.

Additional Information

  • Position is located in Baltimore, Maryland.
  • Regular in-person attendance at the Integrated Project Office (IPO) in Baltimore is mandatory.
  • Some flexibility for remote work and travel may be permitted based on project needs.
  • Project involves upgrading a ten-mile segment of the Northeast Corridor, the busiest passenger rail line in the U.S.
  • Work includes constructing new roadway and railroad bridges, rail systems and track, and a new ADA-compliant West Baltimore MARC station.
