Colorado Christian University (CCU) is looking for a Student Service Advisor to join the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). In this full-time, remote position, you will guide students toward successful degree completion and be a key component in student retention and persistence. You will communicate clearly and accurately via email, phone, and virtual meetings to build strong relationships and support educational goals.
What You'll Do
- Answer student questions via phone, email, and virtual advising appointments, documenting details in student records.
- Initiate outbound calls to assess early intervention needs, build advisor relationships, and proactively challenge students toward successful continuation.
- Analyze, organize, and update reports and spreadsheets for effective time management, data integrity, and efficient student communication.
- Interpret student data to proactively contact students and achieve monthly retention goals.
- Partner strategically with other departments to facilitate and process time-sensitive student requests.
- Prepare for future academic terms, collaborate on special projects, and attend team meetings and training.
What We're Looking For
- High technology proficiency and fluency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Confidence with high volumes of inbound and outbound calls, with proven ability to articulate clearly and persuasively.
- Self-confidence, patience, empathy, and availability when building rapport with students.
- Ability to understand and adapt quickly to multi-generational needs and characteristics.
- A creative, proactive thinker who takes initiative to find solutions while upholding CCU’s expectations and policies.
- Flexibility, a teachable spirit, openness to change, and the ability to proactively locate appropriate resources.
- Skill in building cohesive working relationships, viewing conflict positively, and operating with honesty and respect.
- Disposition to enjoy a high-energy, call-center-type environment while maintaining focus and managing disruptions professionally.
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a personal relationship with Christ.
- Ability to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles in the workplace.
- Regular attendance and meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.
- A traditional evangelical Christian lifestyle in consonance with sound Christian principles and CCU’s Statement of Faith.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in advising, student services, higher education, public relations, or customer service.
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Bilingual speaking and writing proficiency in Spanish and English.
