The Coding Educator, HB Coding plays a key role in advancing clinical documentation integrity and coding precision across healthcare teams. This position designs and leads educational initiatives that support providers, coders, and clinical staff in meeting regulatory requirements and improving documentation quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership across regions to identify gaps in clinical documentation and create targeted learning programs to address them
- Analyze performance metrics and audit results to assess trends, identify improvement areas, and guide education planning
- Build relationships with clinical and coding departments to secure support and resources for training rollouts
- Develop instructional materials and tools that promote consistent, accurate coding practices
- Onboard new coding staff by introducing them to organizational protocols and documentation standards
- Monitor monthly clinical dashboard data to track progress toward quality and compliance goals
- Collaborate with Chief Medical Officers to uphold the accuracy and reliability of health records
- Support additional audit activities as needed to maintain coding integrity
Qualifications
- Must be a resident of IL, IN, IA, WI, OH, MO, MI, or FL
- Commitment to ethical standards and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines
- Experience delivering education to coding professionals, nurses, physicians, and other clinical staff
- Ability to interpret clinical data and translate findings into actionable training strategies
