Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Southern Region) is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide specialist nursing care and expertise within the Emergency Department. In this role, you will work across the organization within a clinical specialty, acting as a practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent, and care coordinator to pursue clinical excellence and improved health outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Provide specialist nursing care and expertise in direct care delivery and in supporting other staff for a defined patient group or area of specialty practice.
  • Act in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent, and care coordinator/case manager within your clinical specialty.
  • Practice both autonomously and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to assess, treat, and manage patient healthcare needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Current NZ Nursing Council registration.
  • Proven practice and advanced knowledge in emergency nursing.

Nice to Have

  • Holding or working towards a post graduate qualification at a minimum of a diploma or a master’s degree.
  • Advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion, and mediation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Team & Environment

This role reports to the Director of Nursing Southland Service, within the Deputy Chief Operating Officer Directorate.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary range: $116,040 - $127,674 per annum, pro-rata.
  • KiwiSaver.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position based at Southland Hospital.
