Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is hiring a Grade 3 Clinical Neuropsychologist to join the Victorian Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Service. In this role, you will provide specialised neuropsychological assessment, intervention, and consultation for adolescents and young adults (aged 15-25) experiencing cognitive, emotional, social, and functional challenges related to cancer and its treatment. You'll work within a multidisciplinary team to support care planning, daily functioning, and wellbeing across diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care.
What You'll Do
- Deliver evidence-based neuropsychological assessments and interventions for AYA with cancer in inpatient and outpatient settings and across the cancer trajectory.
- Develop collaborative care plans with young people, families, and the multidisciplinary team to support cognitive recovery, wellbeing, and engagement in education, work, and social life.
- Prepare clear, timely reports and provide sensitive feedback to referrers, young people, families, and stakeholders.
- Provide consultation and education to clinical colleagues and relevant professionals involved in the care of young people.
- Identify and implement service improvements in neuropsychological care.
- Participate in professional development and activities promoting best practice in AYA cancer care.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision to support reflective practice and professional growth.
- Participate in quality improvement and research projects as requested by AYA Leadership Team.
- Foster interdisciplinary communication to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care.
- Promote young people’s perspectives and priorities in care planning and decision-making.
- Support continuity of care across treatment, survivorship, and rehabilitation.
What We're Looking For
- Current registration to practice as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA).
- Post Graduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology.
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience as a psychologist at Grade 2 level.
- Hold board approved supervisor status with Psychology Board of Australia.
- Completion of a National Criminal Record Check and a Working with Children Check prior to commencement of employment.
- Maintenance of a valid Working with Children Check throughout employment.
- Compliance with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre’s Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases procedure.
Nice to Have
- AHPRA endorsed as a Primary Supervisor for Higher Degree placements and Registrars.
- Experience working in an adolescent, healthcare, or oncology setting.

- Salary: Grade 3 Psychologist, Year 1 (PL1): $108,279.60 (full-time equivalent) – Year 4 (PL4): $123,905.60 (full-time equivalent), dependent on candidate experience. To be prorated for Part Time (64 hours per fortnight).
